Ohio State Football Recruiting: 2027 Four-Star WR Braylon Calais Talks Ohio State Offer, And Camp Experience
The 6’2 191lbs WR talks about his offer from the Buckeyes and camp experience, and sits in his top three
COLUMBUS, OHIO — Ryan Day and company saw quite the bunch of talent come on campus this past month for their football camps. One of the top prospects on campus this past month earned the offer from the Buckeyes after his camp visit. That being 2027 Four-Star WR Braylon Calais out of Cecilia, Louisiana. He spoke to The Buckeye Tribune about his offer and more on his camp experience.
Going into the visit, the Louisiana Wideout wasn’t expecting much from the Buckeyes. He said, “I didn’t expect anything going into the camp the only thing on my mind was to work and showcase my abilities to move at a big size and once I obtained the offer I was way more than excited.”
He spoke highly of Offensive Coordinator Brian Hartline and conversations with him, “The conversations with Coach Brian Hartline were great he’s very confident in the way he coaches. However, he will let you do it your way but still imply his way of doing it to insure that your comfortable doing it his way. I’d say they see using me as they use JJ.”
He spoke on what stood out to him the most about Ohio State, “The fact that the campus is huge and spread out you can tell they took their time build the place with all the little details.”
Ohio State stood out tremendously to Calais. He spoke about how he felt “wanted” at Ohio State. He said, “Definitely the big city and the fact that every coach, manager, chef, cleaner etc. Made you feel like they wanted you to be there stood out a lot to me.”
The Louisiana Native has the Buckeyes in his top three as of now. Some other schools in the mix include LSU, USC, Texas A&M, and many others. The Buckeyes have made a very clear point that they want to recruit in Louisiana.
Despite that, he is definitely interested in the Buckeyes. He tells us he plans on being in Columbus for their week one matchup. “I’ll definitely make my way back to Columbus I’ll try to catch the first game against Texas.”
There’s some big factors for him in his recruitment. He dived on the big factors of his recruitment, “The most important factors that I take into consideration is do they really want me here? If so how will this place benefit and develop me as a young man on and off the field.”
