BREAKING: Ohio State Lands Wright State Senior Forward Brandon Noel
Jake Diebler has landed his third commitment from the transfer portal, this time landing one of the best overall players in the mid-majors.
COLUMBUS, OHIO — Jake Diebler has landed one of the best mid-major players available in Wright State’s Brandon Noel. Noel is going into his senior season with the Buckeyes and looks to make an immediate impact.
Noel has spent his entire college career with the Raiders and has gradually got better after each season. This past season he would average 19 points per game along with 7 rebounds as he also shot 55% from the field to help Wright State finish 15-18.
Ohio State has found a small transfer portal pipeline in Dayton as Tanner Holden just a few seasons ago would spent a season in Columbus but later transfer back to Wright State to finish his career.
The Lucasville, Ohio native would have a breakout game against Kentucky where he produced 20 points and 8 rebounds against the Wildcats. Noel also would have 27 and 26 against Bradley and Princeton respectfully two of the best mid major programs in the country. In a 2022 victory against Louisville he would go for 13 and 6 shooting 6-8 in his second career game.
Noel will be able to slide into a similar role as Jamison Battle who is now with the Toronto Raptors, Ohio State needs a wing who will be physical and can hit shots from deep on a consistent basis and Noel will be able to bring his size and psychical attributes from Wright State to help the Buckeyes make the NCAA Tourney.
